Harry Crosby served as lead navigator for the 100th Bomb Group, Eighth Air Force, in the war-torn skies of Europe. He finished the war as one of the Army Air Forces’ most experienced and combat-hardened navigators, but his first overseas flight nearly ended in disaster.
